3 points Jesup taught about the scripture :-
1. spiritual and physical
Our body need food to sustain. Similarly go for our spirit and soul, needed the spiritual food to move forward.
Luke 4:4 NIV
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’ ”
This is quoted from Deuteronomy.
Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. - Deuteronomy 8:3 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy8:3&version=NIV
2. Workshop God alone
God is a jealous God.
Luke 4:8 NIV
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’ ”
Again Jesus use Deuteronomy to teach.
You must fear the Lord your God and serve him. When you take an oath, you must use only his name. “You must not worship any of the gods of neighboring nations, for the Lord your God, who lives among you, is a jealous God. His anger will flare up against you, and he will wipe you from the face of the earth. - Deuteronomy 6:13-15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy6:13-15&version=NIV
3. Do not test God
God even know the number of hair you are having, how can you test Him if He is the one who have the answer.
Luke 4:12 NIV
Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”
You must not test the Lord your God as you did when you complained at Massah. You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you. - Deuteronomy 6:16-17 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy6:16-17&version=NIV
