Luke 24. Jesus rise from dealth

Luke 24:41-42 NIV
And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”  They gave him a piece of broiled fish,

The appearance of Jesus after resurrection is not merely a soul or spirit but it is a physical Jesus.

Luke 24:39 NIV
Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

Luke 23. Jesus dealth

Luke 23:44-45 NIV
It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

When Jesus was born there was a star in the sky. Now when Jesus is dealth there was a darkness in the sky.

Luke 22. God will

Luke 22:42 NIV
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Mentally and physically it was tough for Jesus to swallow this as well as of he was still in man body.

But at last is the will of God not Jesus will.

Luck 23. Forgiveness

Luke 23:34 NIV
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

This kind of forgiveness even at the point of death Jesus still pray for the forgiveness of the soldier.

Luke 22. Last supper

Luke 22:3, 16-19 NIV
Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”    After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you.  For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”    And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

Luke 22:20 NIV
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

Jesus use his own blood and body to exchange for the salvation for all of us.

Radical faith

3 things

1. Call from God
- Joshua
How to fight the enemy?
Just make some noise

- Moses
In front is red sea and behind is the Egypt army

- Daniel
Put your self in the lion dent

- Abraham
Was ask to Kill his own son.

Luke 18:8 NIV
I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Matthew 24:9 NIV
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.

Matthew 24:10 NIV
At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,

Radical faith is a must

2. Call to Go
Children not belong to me but to God.

3. Call to the greatness
Genesis 12:6 NIV
Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land.

Luke 21. End Time

Fake Jesus. So far I did not aware of this has happen.

Luke 21:8 NIV
He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.

Wars. Many wars have happened. WWI. WW2. Gulf War. Next may be Nuclear war.

Luke 21:9 NIV
When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”

Earthquake. Many great earthquake have taken place such as China TangShan,  Si Cuan,  Japan tsunami,  Indonesia Acheh,  many more to name it.

Luke 21:11 NIV
There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

Persecution. Allah case,  will this be consider.

Luke 21:12 NIV
“But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.

Betrayed by own parent,  brother and sister, relatives and friends. I was looking for wife,  but did not see it. My guess is that wife is not someone in the bloodline.

Luke 21:16 NIV
You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.

Jerusalem. There is always fighting in that region. So don't know which one is real war.

Luke 21:20 NIV
“When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near.

Jerusalem.  So look like this is not there yet as Jerusalem still stand strong.

Luke 21:24 NIV
They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

How Jesus return. Coming in cloud with power and great glory.

Luke 21:27 NIV
At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

What we need to do before Jesus come? Why we need to escape all this? Are all these mean for punishment?

If you were in court before you will.understand how it feel to stand before the one have power. So can you imagine Jesus has ten or hundreds time of power than the judge?

Luke 21:36 NIV
Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

I could imagine how Jesus come as judge of the world with many more time of power.

Luke 21. How poor give

Luke 21:3-4 NIV
“Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.  All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

until now I still learn how to give like this poor widow.

I remember one of the preaching by someone said this - give until you feel pain.

Luke 20. Husband and wife in heaven

Luke 20:35 NIV
But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage,

This is interesting,  husband and wife on earth will not ended as husband and wife in heaven.

So in heaven we are all individual.

How about children?   Are they still our children when in heaven? Husband and wife have no blood relationship but brother and sister and children parent yes.

If children parent relationship still remain in heaven,  then the children need parent and parent need mother and father. But it is clearly stated that no more husband and wife and I will assume there is no parent children as well. Otherwise the situation will be strange.

So can I said no husband and wife and no parent child relationship in heaven.

Luke 20. Pay taxes

Luke 20:25 NIV
He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

We need to pay taxes and also pay the tithe to God.

Luke 20. Cornerstone

Luke 20:17 NIV
Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:    “ ‘The stone the builders rejected    has become the cornerstone’    ?

Jesus was talking to these people in the temple,  they are elder,  law teacher etc.

Jesus is the cornerstone.

The story of the landlord and the tenant. Many time the landlord send messenger to the tenant but was ignored. Even at last he sent his own son also being killed.

Landlord here is basically the Father God, the messenger here are the prophet and the son was Jesus.

At the end the landlord come himself and sorted out the issues and kill all these tenant.

Luke 20:16 NIV
He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.”  When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!”

Luke 20. Jesus not answer to elder

Luke 20:8 NIV
Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

Jesus was question but then he challenge back the elder and ended up not answer their question.

Luke 19. Jesus predict the future

Luke 19:30 NIV
“Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

What Jesus predicted happened in the next moment when the disciples go down to the city to take the colt.

Luke 19. Invest

Luke 19:26-27 NIV
“He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.  But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’ ”

I am not sure if the king here resemble Jesus. The last part was very cruel. The enemy will be killed in front of the King.

Another thing is those who have more will be given more and those who have less and don't know how to invest will be taken away.

Is this mean what the rule of the world - the rich will become richer and poor become poorer.

Or from spiritual point of view those invest in the kingdom of God more will be given more in heaven. And those did not invest in the Kingdom will be even prevented to enter the kingdom.

Luke 19. Zacchaeus tax collector

Luke 19:10 NIV
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Many times this was mentioned.  The Lost sheep. The Lost coin. The Lost son.

The rich and the poor.

The believer and the enemy

The message is clear that Jesup is here to heal the sick, save the sinner.

Beatitues

Matthew 5:3-10 NIV
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,    for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,    for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,    for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,    for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,    for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,    for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,    for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,    for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed = happiness

1. Blessed are the poor in spirit
- at point of spiritual bankrupt
- where you were lost
- end of man road is the beginning of God road
- low point
- when you are nothing then you felt God is everything
- when you are nobody you are somebody to God

Jesus teaching on the prayer of the tax collector and humble person.

Luke 18:13 NIV
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

Luke 18:14 NIV
“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Revelation 3:17 NIV
You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

2. Mourn
- broken hearted
- poverty of spirit
- repent. Sorry
- David and Goliath
- David committed adultery and murderer
- David confession
- Psalm 51

Psalm 51:1 NIV
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.

All sunshine make a dessert

Story of the mother and her son
- son ask for money
- mother angry and scolded him to go and die
- sorrow and mourn lead the mother and her family to Christ

Luke 18. Sell all you have

Luke 18:22 NIV
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Do you think Jesus really mean it that the rich should sell all his wealth and follow Jesus. ?

The famous camel go through the needle story below. In fact it is impossible for camel to go through the needle.

Luke 18:24-25 NIV
Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!  Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

At last Jesus have the answer for all these impossible.

Luke 18:27 NIV
Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

Many time Jesus heal the sick - all kind of sickness - when  that person have faith.

Luke 18:42 NIV
Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”

Luke 18. Commandment

Luke 18:20 NIV
You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’  ”

Not commit adultery.

Shall not murder.

Shall not steal.

Shall not give false testimony

Honor your father and mother

Luke 18. Believe like a child

Luke 18:17 NIV
Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

I heard about this more than ten years ago when I was in Taiwan,  from the TV program,  I think by Soon Yeah.

He said we need to trust Jesus like a baby. Just simple trust.

It is earlier for a child to trust God than adult. We think too much.

This is one of the area instill need to learn.

I also discover we are more in need of God when we are in bad time. When you are out of option. Then you will come like a baby to trust God. Because you have nothing to loss anything.

Still learning how to trust God when in good time.

Luke 18. How to pray

Luke 18:11, 13 NIV
The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

Pharisee is boasting himself while tax collector humbling himself.

Luke 18:14 NIV
“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Jesus like to use this.

What exalt themselves will be humbled. Who humble themselves will be exalted.

The first will be last. The last will be first.

I added - the rich will be poor abs the poor will be rich.

Who give up his life will have eternal life. Who have life here will be in hell.

Big house here will get small house small house here will get big mansion.

Luke 18. Don't give up

Luke 18:7 NIV
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

Perseverance. Don't give up. Persistent. Keep going. Do what ever it take. Press on.

Luke 17. Rapture

Luke 17:34 NIV
I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.

There is no word if Rapture casted but what Jesus said about end time is people will get dissappear just like that and it happen at night while we are sleeping.

Luke 17:35 NIV
Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.  ”

Not only at night but during day time as well while we are working.

Luke 17. Appreciation

Luke 17:17-18 NIV
Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?  Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”

Jesus healed ten leprosy but only one went back to him to appreciate His healing and this person is a Samariatan.

Luke 17. Forgiveness

Luke 17:3 NIV
So watch yourselves.    “If your brother or sister    sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them.

I saw some where I think in FB  - I can forgive you but I never trust you again.

What is forgives mean?

Christianity stack exchange pit it in an interesting way.

Forgiveness is like a transaction. Offender ask for forgiveness and you forgive. But and sell. Asked and given.

It put it into 3 scenarios
1.  Offend done,  offender ask for forgiveness,  you forgive. Done.
2.  Offend done, you told the offender that you are offended. Offender asked and you forgive. Done.
3. Offend done. You told offender. Ignore and rejected. You cannot forgive. There is no deal done.

http://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/6799/what-is-gods-definition-of-forgiveness

This is a light with Luke 17. Rebuke the offender and if they repent then only you can forgive them.

What happen if they did not recognize the offend,  you cannot forgive. No Deal done.

Then the burden will stuck with you forever?

Again the Christianity stack exchange actually suggested to do some symbolic act and to let go the burden.

This is between man and man.

Between man and God, Jesus wanted man to ask.for forgiveness and Jesus is willing to.give anytime.

Seek you shall be given. And Knock The Door Shall Be Open.

Luke 16 rich man go to hell

Luke 16:25 NIV
“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

Let read the application bible see what it has to say.

As of now,  from.the surface it mean poor go to heaven and rich go to hell.

What the amputation bible explain is in this context,  Jesus was referring to pharasees.  The  moral of the story is the rich man was selfish and not even wanted to help the poor. Lazarus was like a dog who pick the fall from the table.

Luke 16. Divorce and remarried

Luke 16:18 NIV
“Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

This is another big topic to research about. Can someone divorce his wife and remarried?

What application bible say here?

This was beyond Moses teaching,  which allow nan to give the divorce certificate.

Matthew 19:8 NIV
Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.

Jesus intention is marriage is life time. Sonia God eyes divorce still consider committed adultery if you remarried. One point here is even though the law provide divorce but in God eyes this is still not allow.

Matthew 19:4-6 NIV
“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’  and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’  ?  So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

But if the wife is no longer a believer and strongly pray to idol,  I remember some where in bible said believer not suppose to be yoke with non believer.

Luke 16. One cannot serve two master

Luke 16:13 NIV
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

It could be wrongly interpreted. If you want to serve God,  you cannot be rich?

Rich people cannot serve God?

I thought God will prosperous whoever obey him. Abraham was blessed with land and others live stock.

David was blessed and become King David.

Solomon also.

But in new tastement all disciples did not have a good ending. They either persecuted or die. Non of them was lifted to heaven,  except John who wrote the Revelation. Most propane due of old age after he finish The Book of Revelation.

So can you be rich?  I remember pastor did talk about thus in one of the sermon. You can be rich but not flirty rich. Meaning the money must come from proper source.

And of course not after become rich then forgot about who blessed you. But as man this could be easily happen. Once we are rich you thought you can do everything.

I think here Jesup mean it us difficult to serve God and money well. Of course there are people who can do it or did it as well.

In this context,  Jesup actually refer to the pharisee,  who wanted power and at the same time pretend to serve God and obey the law. Moses law.

Luke 16. Trustworthy

Luke 16:10 NIV
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.

If you can manage your little family finance well,  there is no issues to manage a corporation.

Honest. This is the word.

Luke 15. Rejoice sinner repented

3 stories were told.

1.  Lost sheep
2.  Lost coin
3.  Lost son

Luke 15:7 NIV
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Luke 14. How to be disciple

1.  Be like Jesus
- I need to give up myself and be like Jesus.

Luke 14:26 NIV
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.

2.  Carry your own cross

Luke 14:27 NIV
And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

What is the meaning of carry the cross?   What is cross? Suffering? Persecution?

3.  Give up everything

Luke 14:33 NIV
In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.

4.  Planning

Luke 14:28 NIV
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

5.  Lead by example

Luke 14:34 NIV
“Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?

Luke 14. The Banquet

Luke 14:16-18 NIV
Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.  At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’     “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’

This is exactly me. Like to give excuse. I really amaze that Richard Branson really live his life to the full. I even thing he said when was 40,  he wanted to livebt b en second half of his different ftom my first half.

How do I live my second half ?

Lord Kingdom life or the world secular life.

Do i have the energy to restart the engine?
